Quality dried yeast for high sugar recipes (where the sugar content is above 5%)
The presence of sugar inhibits yeast by drying it out through osmosis. This yeast has been developed to cope with the drying action of sugar. This yeast starts working immediately on contact with flour/sugar/water mixes and relishes high sugar conditions.
We suggest using fresh yeast for savoury baking.
Supplied in a 50g pot. Keep refrigerated.
Ingredients: yeast (saccharomyces cerevisae), emulsifier: sorbitan monostearate (E491), flour treatment agent: ascorbic acid (E300).
